FAQ

How much does a protection dog cost?

Guard dogs or protection dogs can be very expensive depending on who you select. MPI-K9 dogs start at $15,000 and cost much less than some of our competitors. You might be asking: Why are your dogs much cheaper than your competition? We believe in fair and honest pricing and you should receive a highly trained protection dog at an honest price. All of our protection dogs are trained by experts with over 20-years of Master K-9 training. Each dog comes with a two-year health guarantee certificate issued with canine covering hips, back, spine, elbows and major disease or illness. All canines are x-rayed and cleared by a veterinarian prior to training. We also offer a one year guarantee on training after successfully completing our basic class. The price of our dogs also includes 3-days of personal training with you and your dog at our secure location.

How do I buy a dog from you if I am not local?

There are three ways we can match you with the ideal dog. In Rockford, Illinois, we provide local pick up. Additionally, we transport across the US and assist you with setting up your dog and a handler course. The final option is to have your dog sent to you. The pricing includes the majority of our finished protection dogs, hand delivery, and handler training.

Can a protection dog be a family pet?

Absolutely, yes. A protection dog provides the same level of loyalty and companionship as an untrained dog, plus the additional benefit of providing complete protection for you in any dangerous circumstances. The finest security dog for a family is one who has grown up with kids and in a family environment. Even if they have a playful side, a well picked and trained guard dog has a calm and controlled demeanor. Protection dogs are exceptional pets to have for your family and kids since they are taught to identify and address hazards.

Why shouldn’t I buy a sport dog over a protection dog?

Because sport dogs aren’t trained in real-world scenarios, you should choose a family protection dog instead. Your house will not be broken into by a man who is in a field or a marshmallow costume. These canines practice the same routines every day in an effort to master them for a perfect score. These dogs aren’t even somewhat interested in posing a threat to humans by biting or pursuing them.

What are the best protection dog breeds?

We have the top breeds of personal protection dogs at MPI-K9. Many dog breeds that are designed to satisfy the needs of a personal security dog have been trained by our team. American bulldogs, Belgian Malinois, Bouvier des Flanders, Czech Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, and German Shepherds are a few of these breeds. Because of their devotion, agility, and trainability as well as their instinct to defend their owners, these dog breeds make excellent personal protection dogs.

What makes a good protection dog?

The extensive training that each of our personal protection dogs complete before they enter your home guarantee that they will provide the peace of mind you are looking for. Alongside providing protection for your family, MPI-K9 personal protection dogs are trained in obedience, thus assuring you that an outing with our personal protection dog, or even staying at home, will be without the stress of an unruly dog. Our personal protection dogs are also family oriented so they are able to interact with children and other members of your family due to being raised in loving homes. A personal protection dog is a great companion due to the strong bond they form with their owner which ensures that our protection dog will protect and defend you at all times. A great personal protection dog is ready to protect you and your family during all of your day-to-day activities and more, from going on walks or a run, going to the mall, or pumping gas, a MPI-K9 dog is always alert and ready to jump into action.

Are protection dogs aggressive?

No, real guard dogs are not hostile. We don’t select dogs for training who exhibit any signs of hostility; instead, protection dogs are chosen for their temperaments and dispositions. A guard dog is composed, certain, and professionally trained to deal with dangers. A genuine guard dog has spent countless hours learning how to behave flawlessly and how to defend its owners from harm. Protection dogs are assertive, which means they observe quietly and do not become agitated easily. They reserve their strength for actual dangers.
