Purpose To establish consistent operational, disciplinary, and communication standards for all MPI-K9 personnel assigned to Circle Center Mall and Bottleworks Hotel. These procedures ensure professionalism, accountability, and safety across all shifts. ⸻ 2. Shift Structure Shift Hours • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM • Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM • Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM Arrival and Relief Protocol • Officers must arrive and be on post at the start of their scheduled time. • "On post" means fully dressed, equipped, and relieving the prior shift. • Walking into the facility at your start time is considered late. ⸻ 3. Communication Protocol Reporting to Management • Any incident or report must be verbally communicated to management before written submission. • No report should ever be submitted without managerial awareness. Office Hours and After-Hours Policy • Office Hours: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM • After-hours contact (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM) is for emergencies only. • Emergencies include safety threats, serious incidents, or urgent issues requiring immediate action. • Do not contact management after hours for scheduling, time-off requests, or routine updates. Team Chat Acknowledgment • All management announcements, posts, or directives in the team chat must be acknowledged by every team member. • Failure to acknowledge a message is considered a first verbal disciplinary warning. ⸻ 4. Attendance and Punctuality Lateness Policy • If you will be late, notify management as soon as the delay is known. • Notification must happen before your scheduled start time. • A no-call/no-show will result in immediate disciplinary action. Call-Outs and Absences • Time-off requests must follow the vacation policy in Section 6. • Unapproved absences or repeated tardiness may result in suspension or termination. ⸻ 5. Appearance and Conduct Dress Code • Uniforms must be clean, pressed, and complete at the start of every shift. • Officers must be fully ready to assume their post when clocking in — not preparing after arrival. Professional Behavior • No loitering, sleeping, eating, or personal phone use while on post. • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times. • Treat all employees, guests, and management respectfully. • Do not engage with or attempt to detain shoplifters inside the mall. That is the responsibility of law enforcement or designated security personnel. ⸻ 6. Vacation and Time-Off Requests • Requests must be submitted a minimum of two weeks in advance in writing or through the designated scheduling system. • Approval is based on staffing levels and management discretion. • Excessive or last-minute requests may be denied. • Unapproved time off is grounds for disciplinary action. ⸻ 7. Task Lists by Location Circle Center Mall • Conduct visible patrols throughout assigned zones. • Report suspicious activity immediately. • Assist mall management when requests align with MPI-K9 policy. • Maintain detailed activity logs per shift. Bottleworks Hotel • Conduct lobby and perimeter patrols. • Maintain guest safety and assist when appropriate. • Log all vendor entries, service calls, and guest incidents. • Ensure the property remains orderly and secure at all times. ⸻ 8.
